I have some movies that are in .rar files. XBMC is not scanning them into the library for some reason.

an example is

blow1-inte.r00
blow1-inte.r01
etc... etc..
and then the last files are blow1-inte.rar

then there is another set with

blow2-inte.r00
blow2-inte.r01
then the last files is blow2-inte.rar

Do i need to extract both rar files?

I thought xbmc could see thru .rar and play them on the dvdplayer? Do I need to rename the files to something so that xbmc can pick them up? ???

I rescanned my library and nothing. I have put in my fanart, folder, etc.. along with my nfo file however no skin tag information is showing to show my media flags? How do I fix this, does the file need to be extracted so that MIP can pick up the media tags info? ??????

Settings > Appearance > View Settings > Make archives with one file transparent. Or thereabouts.

ok I have them showing now in the library. But now I have duplicate or something many files of the movies showing up for some reason. I cleaned my library and they are still there.

Would it be best to just extract them from the rar files and then stack them? or how do I get rid of the mutiple files now and only show a main one to have the file play?

The rars aren't your problem. The files must be names in such a way that they don't stack. You'll either have to rename them, or add a regular expression to advancedsettings.xml so that they will. See the wiki article about advancedsettings.xml for further info on stacking.
