Hi all,

i'm new to XBMC, trying to move from mediaportal but unfortunately since i'm using a not so powerful system 720p .mkv jitter on XBMC (a thing that absolutly didn't happen in mediaportal).

i figure it's because of the codecs- since mediaportal can use CoreAVC to play these files,
plus since i'm watching these with subtitles, i know mediaportal can use hardware to decode these as well.

unfortunately i couldn't find these options in XBMC and i was wandering if there's a plugin for it or a workaround such as to use an external player that can configure the decoders..

now i've searched the forums and i know this question was asked before, but i couldn't fully understand if there's a way to do that, and if so, how exactly.

any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks,

btw specs are
Intel P4 2.6Ghz
1.5GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600XT
Vista.

Welcome to XBMC. I am surprised that you didn't find the external player thread but here it is: http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43511.

Be forewarned though, it's a long thread.

i did find this thread however as you said it's a very long thread and it contains several codes fixes suggested by multiple users and i couldn't figure out realy which one's the right for me or how to actually put one of these codes to use even...

thanks again for your help
