Hey guys, I used XBMC for the longest time on my xbox but now the time has come to step up to a HTPC. With my HTPC my goal is stream movies from a home sever and to have emulators easy to play. I've done a little poking around yet I have no idea how to do ether. Can anyone give me a hand?

PS:
It be very beneficial to my marriage if the whole set up is wife proof :P

There have been several topics where people have discussed this. Here (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46803&highlight=htpc) is a good one for example.

Thanks, I just read that topic and it seemed it was focused on the hardware side of things. I already got a rig ready. I just need help with softwear.

The emulators portion of the discussion is not quite ready for prime time. This thread features the current solution:

And these thread discuss potential future solutions.

As to your first question... that's pretty broad. Perhaps if you described your current rig, both in terms of the computer you have connected to the TV and and the rig you've got serving videos, we could be more help.

Both my HTPC and sever will be running vista 64. The HTPC has a AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GH, ATI 4870, 4 gigs of ram. The sever PC is AMD 64 X2 5000+, ATI 4850, 4 gigs of ram. Still look for a harddrive setup for that Sever pc but I can figure that out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohjkj6zOucs Thats how id like it to look when done. Thanks for any help :)

It should be pretty simple, if you've already used XBMC for Xbox. Share the folders on your server via Samba or Windows sharing. Install XBMC for windows. Look for the shared folders. Add them to the library. Voila.

Oh. And the skin is called "Mediastream."
