Hello everyone, im a total noob to XBMC, i have been reading about it for about 4 hours a day for the past couple of days ( i need a life). anyways, i read the stickies and a lot of other posts and the wikis. I still have some issues that are not clear for me:

1. If i export my library, then import it later on, do the folder structures have to match? (im assuming hell yes) if not when i "update library" well it re download the info or will it just grab it from the import?

2. i have over 4TB of movies/anime/shows, some do not show in the library and some do. The problem is i have so much shit that its really hard to know what got recognized and is in the library and what isn't. is there a way to cross reference the XBMC library with my actual files without manually doing it? can i force XBMC to load all my video files to the library even if it does not recognize it?

3. sometimes i put movies with tv shows (south park movie in the same general folder of sp tv show), can i make it so the tv show gets the tv scraper and the movie gets the movie scraper even though one folder is in the other?

4. stuff that does get recognized but is wrong, i usually manually edit the title and fix it till i find a match, can i make XBMC to change the actual file name of the actual file? (so even if i dnt export for back up, next time i update library i wont have to redo this manual step).

5. how do i manually add tv shows? they go into the "movies" folder.

7. can i group/link movies together ( i have all of the james bond movies but they all have different names as opposed to james bond 1, james bond 2...) so i want them next to each other.

8. i know this is random, but Band of brothers refuses to show in my tv shows folder, I have the proper naming convention and have tried a billion things i just cant seem to get it in the library (naming: Band Of brothers E0X eps name) i have also tried S0XE0X, and tried removing the name of the episode. is it considered a movie? if so, i need to solve #3 to fix this issue.

I know this is a very long list of questions, i will keep searching and post my finding if i figure out something. answer what you know and please dnt flame me if i missed sth :D

Regards,
Homie

No, there is no easy way to handle it at the moment. We are aware of the issue and will eventually fix it.

Not that I am aware of. You should keep everything organized :)
Not totally relevant, but once it is scanned into the library you can however link the movie to the TV Show via the context menu.

4. stuff that does get recognized but is wrong, i usually manually edit the title and fix it till i find a match, can i make XBMC to change the actual file name of the actual file? (so even if i dnt export for back up, next time i update library i wont have to redo this manual step).
There is a setting to let you delete and rename iirc.

wut?

7. can i group/link movies together ( i have all of the james bond movies but they all have different names as opposed to james bond 1, james bond 2...) so i want them next to each other.
Not currently, search the forums there is a huge thread about this.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, are you using thetvdb? Should be named S01E0X and not S00E0X according to them. (I'm pretty sure Band Of brothers E0X eps name won't work as it needs a season#)

thanks for the quick reply, i got band of brothers to show up in the lib. it would not show if i put S01, i took out the "0" and it worked.

what were you saying about iirc? i don't even know what that is?

about manually adding a tv show, if the show was not recognized, i right click and pick "manually add" it then shows the episode i selected under movies instead of tv shows.

thanks again,

For number 3 I have had success leaving it all for TVDB. The Family Guy movie info was there with all the episodes for me anyways.
