Hello,

I have installed XBMC Live 9.04 to my HTPC's HDD. It works great and i'm real happy with it (VDPAU!). Especially after trying to get xbmc ppa to work with jaunty (I didn't get the Pulseaudio problems fixed).

But now i what to use my XBMC live 9.04 install to run 2 programs in the background, being, transmission and sabnzb+. Is this possible? And is it possible to control these programs using Gnome ui on XBMC Live (is Gnome installed with XBMC Live HDD install?)?
Or is it better to control these programs using my laptop over LAN?

Does any one have some tips, or has done something similar?

Cheers,

ELDano

you can install whatever apps on Live, just take into consideration that apt-get will download a huge amount of dependencies and for any GUI application you will need to cope that by default you don't have any Window Manager, unless you start in SAFE MODE.
