Hi,

I've been looking trough the forum and can see others with he same problem, but they are using Catalyst.

My problem is corrupted video like in this picture:

or this one:

The UI of XBMC is OK. Also video in background is OK. The problem only occurs when in fullscreen.

I'm using the default radeon driver in Jaunty
Already tried to add glrectanglehack to the advancedsettings.xml, with no result.

My configuration:
Ubuntu 9.04
ATI Radeon 7000 AGP (RV100)
Default Radeon driver
XBMC 9.04

What do I have to do to solve his?

Some more info:

Today I tried with an USB-harddisk with a fresh install => same problem.
Tried a (ATI 9800) graphics card from another pc => no problem.
So it has something to do with the combination XBMC and the driver of the graphics card.

It worked before on intrepid and XBMC 8.10 :confused2:, but I don't want to go back to Intrepid because this machine is also my backup-server, so a downgrade will be a lot of work for me.

Any suggestions or more information needed?

When I play the same files in VLC they play without problems.
Does XBMC have its own codecs?
Is this a codec problem or a driver problem?
Is is possible to use VLC as the default player in XBMC as a workaround?

Use the search function of this forum. The problem you have is explained in many topics. You have to change some numbers and then do a custom build.

What do I have to search for? I searched many times but couldn't find a solution for this card. Most of the same problems deal with cards that uses the Catalyst driver. Any help is much apriciated!

See the sticky - you need the <glrectanglehack>

That is what I ment with "I added advancedsettings.xml". (Edited my first post to be more clear about that).

Something I saw yesterday is that although I'm using XBMC on a 1080p screen XBMC's info says it's 720p. So the television says 1080p, XBMC says 720p.
Has this something to do with this problem?

Is there a way to force XBMC to 1080p?
Maybe this will be a solution to my problem. Now XBMC is 720p on a 1080p screen.:sniffle:
