Hey folks,

I am running SVN 20351 right now, I noticed today, that I got some occasional stuttering while playing back xvid SD files. Checked CPU usage and it is up significantly from previous builds. I got one core loaded at about 35-40% average, the other is at 5-10%.
I am pretty sure that before, playing back the same kind of mpeg4 content my cpu load was max. 10% on each core ...
Are there any changes in the latest revisions that could cause this?
Here's a log from a test:

My hardware specs are in my sig.

*bump*

sorry, but I need to get back to this. I reverted back to 9.04 and cpu load went down to what it used to be. Could someone please confirm that cpu load with SD content got significantly higher with latest svn builds? Right now I am on 20463 and again my cpu load with SD mpeg4 content is up to 30-40% on one core, which is below 10% when running XBMC 9.04.
Not that it's a REAL problem, but lower cpu load = better usually.

Just guessing here but it could be something to do with high quality upscaling. I believe it wasn't working correctly with vdpau enabled. Maybe when upscaling was fixed the cpu usage went up because upscaling is now working? Just a thought.

cheers

Hmm, upscaling could explain it right ... what kinda cpu usage are u guys getting when playing back SD mpeg4 content with upscaling enabled? Gotta say though that I have powernowd enabled, thus my cpu is running at 2ghz when playing back SD content.
Will give it a try later and see what happens when upscaling is disabled.
