View Full Version : [DOWNLOAD] Multiplex 'extrathumbs' for 346 movies

This is my personal collection but hopefully there's enough of use for someone. All are taken from print/digital press kits so they're good poses and frames - no randoms just grabbed from the video file. Quality varies but never too much, and all thumbs look great in dual-thumb view. Two is the minimum for each movie, though a few have more which can be viewed in the 'big thumb' mode.

And that's that. No requests, please, and no complaints. Just use what you can and use the rest of this thread wisely.

The files (be sure to extract the directory structure as well):

The list (so you know what you're in for):

Not sure if it's just me or not, but the link to download part 2 isn't working.

The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

Awesome!

djh just to clear up some confusion, is it only beneficial to have more than 2 thumbs if you are using the Thumb layout like the Hellboy screenshot above? Or is the Plot layout going to include a slideshow as well eventually?

It includes a slideshow now.

It includes a slideshow now.

To be clear, I'm talking about this view:

http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/435063/aeonscreens/aeon_concept_boxoffice1.jpg

Slideshow is possible with that layout? With which filenames? I have thumbN.jpg (N=1..10) and I don't get any slideshow with that view.

Currently slideshow is not apart of this view. It strictly displayed image1 and 2

Thanks for these!

Edit: incidentally, I think we have fairly similar taste in movies, including several of the lesser known/independent films that you have -- I'm definitely going to check out a bunch of the ones here that I haven't already seen, so thanks for the recommendation list too!

All are taken from print/digital press kits

Djh, sorry to go a bit off-topic, but do you know of any good sites for digital (rather than scanned) press kits, or do you just google around for particular movies?

Well I generated 10 thumbs for each of my movies but they're auto-generated so some are pictures of nothing, hehe. When you put them in slideshow they work fine though... I'll post the script I used soon.

You can have as many skins as you want.

Simply name one Aeon Stark and the other Aeon Auriga.

Yeah, it's a pretty good site...It's good for finding images to use as a basis for fanart when nothing else can be found.

Can someone answer a really dumb question for me that I just can't find anywhere else?

If I want to manage my own artwork and extrathumbs (thumb, extrathumb, and fanart), what is the folder/location and hierarchy for all 3 of them? Naming convention? Etc...I know I can manually select fanart and thumb in the interface but not these, so I may as well do it all manually. What's the proper location and naming convention?

Just what I needed. Thanks. I'm using Plex on a Mac Mini, doesn't look like that can allow me to manage my own Fanart -- Or am I mistaken?

I tried both just the name fanart.jpg in the film's folder, and also Filmname-fanart.jpg and no dice.

It would be nice to manually manage all this stuff for those rare cases where I need to reformat or lose the library for some reason (or move files around, etc).

Try the Plex forums? In XBMC it is fanart.jpg or <moviename>-fanart.jpg.

Last I heard they disabled in in Plex as there was some sort of major slowdown due to it, but I'm gonna check back with them as a new build showed last nite.

Thanks.

Another collection of 310 extrathumbs artwork. There is some overlap with djh's collection, but the fair majority is new. Just a heads up, I don't use the default directory structure for the images. All of my extrathumbs are in 1 folder, separate from all the movies. I do this because I have offline content on a server that I only turn on when I need something from it, so I have all my art on the HTPC. This means you'll have to add the /extrathumbs/ folder yourself.

RisenGryn
You're movie library needs to be organized so each film is in its own folder. Then create a folder named "extrathumbs" (without quotes) in each. Place the images in that folder, named "thumb1.jpg", "thumb2.jpg" etc.

Example:

-Movies
---Die Hard
Die Hard.avi
---extrathumbs
thumb1.jpg
thumb2.jpg
---Scarface
Scarface.avi
---extrathumbs
thumb1.jpg
thumb2.jpg
---Wanted
Wanted.avi
---extrathumbs
thumb1.jpg
thumb2.jpg

Thanks, but is there any way to recieve those stills automatically? A cool feature would be to have those thumbs dynamically extracted on the fly from the movie file itself and then slideshow them every second. A possibility would be to jump from keyframe to keyframe.

:)
