Having the same problem on Vista as well. It's not skin related as I have tried a number of different skins.

I'm running on a MAC mini machine (running Vista natively, ie not emulated) with 2Gb memory. Didn't have any problems previously.

Is there a specific way to upgrade, initially I just ran the install without deinstalling the previous version first. I have since tried deinstallng and reinstalling again.

Same issue, but running Windows Server 2008.
Mac Mini Intel Dual Core.
4GB Memory.
'Run as Administrator' compatibility set for XBMC.exe.

Pausing is fine.
Starting one video file during playback of another is fine (it just swaps to the new one).
The problem only happens when playback is stopped. At this point, XBMC crashes.

Playing AVI files. Tried several.
Doesn't matter if windowed mode or not.

No problem with DVD playback.

Have you tried changing the rendering method in Video setting to something different than "Auto" ? This fixed the problem for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed your advice in that thread and it worked for me too!

I really wish I understood why it made a difference and, sooner or later, I'll put the effort into learning about all this. But, for now, I'm just grateful for the help.

Nice one!

Only been playing with XBMC for a few days... just loving it. Thanks to all the devs for all the hard work on this amazing software.

Do you all have intel cards?
Works fine for me with Vista and Nvidia. need to find the common thing for the crashing setup.

My setup is a Mac Mini with an Intel 945 Express graphics chipset.

The problem was fixed for me by changing the Video setting from Auto.
