XBMC locks up in stream

I am running Ibex and I have installed the fancast plug-in. I have a 2.0 Ghz AMD Turion X2 CPU, 4GB of Ram.

When I load up a video I wait til it loads 100% and then I start watching but several times I have tried to pause it and then the entire XBMC program locks up and the audio freezes up too. Then the only way to fix it is to restart my entire computer. Any help?

I'm getting the same on two machines running Ibex and one Mint6 for the last couple of months. Streaming from a NAS over 56k wifi: press pause, fast forward, stop or when the movie has finished XMBC freeze, a constant sound loop plays. The OS is still running, but the sound loop still plays after you log back in again after restarting X. If you just leave XBMC frozen it dumps you back to the main menu after 5 minutes.

I read about pulse audio causing problems, but nothing I turned up helped.

Been trying to get all these details (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34655)pulled together but not got round to it yet.
