Hello,
I have a motherboard with SBlive! by creative with optical out, but I thought it sucked. It kept crackling.
Then I bought this card: http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-plosion.php
It has a C-Media CMI8770 PCI chipset which I believe is compatible with ALSA.
I followed the guide for installing xbmc here: http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=HOW-TO:_Install_XBMC_for_Linux_on_Ubuntu_8.10_(Intrepi d)_step-by-step
It goes through the steps of configuring sound and it works for the SBLive, but I would like to get it working for my Auzentech soundcard.
What steps should I perform to make this happen?
