View Full Version : My appletv is set to 1080p but xbmc runs at 720p

Not sure, but I have my ATV set to 1080p, but under xbmc it shows 1280x720p but my TV is still in 1920x1080p mode, I know this because my tv signal displays whenever the signal changes.

So should I just set my ATV to run in 720p then? I am wondering if this will make things run a bit faster on xbmc? Or should it not make a difference at all?

Your ATV is only 720p or 1080i. It does not support 1080p.

Buzz, wrong info. The AppleTV can display to 1080p. It's tricky to setup and best avoided. And since the AppleTV has no chance of actually decoding 1080p content at the current time, it's best to setup the display to 720p.
