New bug?.. - menu items skipping over

Hi,

I've just tried the most recent version of Aeon (djh-aeon-ecac28b809f3f44f091f4f4e413f4508f8a197a0), but the problem I was experiencing with the very first release still remains:

- on the main menu whenever I navigate (read: highlight) from item to item (eg, Movies->Music->Programs->Settings->...) _from time to time_ I seem to skip over. In other words, if I'm currently at the 'Movies' and press '>>' on the remote, instead of landing on the 'Music' I land on the 'Programs'. Sometimes it words as expected... Originally I thought it's smth with my remote (MCE) repeat setting, but it works just fine with Mayham (or whatever the name of the default XBMC skin is)...

Let me know if this is a new bug and if so - how I can provide more info? (will XBMC log help?..)

System info:

- XBMC build: 19504
- OS: 8.04.2 Ubuntu
- Remote: MS MCE2

I've use v.9, v.91 and svn builds, i've never had this problem.

which remote did you use? Is it 'out of the box' installation? (in other words, you didn't do any significant modifications to config files, did you)

To be honest, I haven't tried using my IR remote with AEON yet (to answer your question i use a M$MCE Remote), that is on my todo list, so maybe this is an issue, currently i'm using the tv with my desktop (not HTPC) and my 52" TV to do code editing, so i've just been keyboarding it up, but to answer your other question yes it is out of box. (Only mod is to be able to do source tag lookups from the nfos.)

Try using the remote when you get a chance.... If the keyboard works fine, it really can be remote control 'repeat' thing. I wonder if there is a 'delay' setting somewhere for this skin?..

Have you tried yours with a keyboard? Just a thought, and yes I will be hooking up my remote later tonight, hopefully, this Media Flags project has me pretty swamped!

Most likely due to background images changing while using the remote. Increase the delay in the advancedsettings.xml (forget the property offhand, but it is in the wiki).

Hmm, can you hint the name? I've just went through the (only?) document available on the advancedsettings.xml file on the wiki (http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=Advancedsettings.xml) and the only relevant setting I could find was <displayremotecodes>. But it says that it's applicable ONLY for the XBox, while I'm running XBMC-Linux. Also, please note that under the default skin I don't see any adverse effects...
