Can I have a time display on the video player console? (the one with play/fast forward audio setup and so on) Like on a standard video/dvd player?

No - Current time of day.
And I prefer that all time indicators are placed in one central location like a lcd display.
(but that is a personal preference)

hmm maybe I have misunderstood the display - the first time is that current time or start time?
