Hi everyone !

Been mucking around with XBMC on and Xbox for a while, so I thought I would try it on a windows box.

Fresh install Vista Business 32 with SP1
Video card ATI HD3450 256MB
2.5 gig ram
Gigabyte MB, AMD 3000+ (2GHz) CPU
Samsung 1TB Silencer HDD

ERROR missing DLL

Quote
This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.DLL was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem

Get on of the third party svn compiles from the sticky thread. They include the missing msvc?71 dlls.

8.10 is extremely, extremely old news. Grab the newest SVN from the sticky at the top of the Windows forum. That will have you dll.

Thanks Guys
off to discover what a 'sticky ' is
and what SVN means

Looks like it must be a simple known issue.

Cheers

a sticky is thread in this forum that is stuck so its always at the top of the list.

an svn is essentially a development version.

so in other words "see one of the stuck threads for a place to get a new development version"

Also, it boggles my mind that a person knows how to create a thread in the right forum area, but doesn't read one of the top most links that say, "New here? read this first!"
