View Full Version : trouble scraping + a movie library problem
installed SVN19161 clean last night, added my music & my movies. The music seemed to all come up, but no cover art. Every one of my mp3 files has embedded art, it comes up in Winamp, Mediamonkey & iTunes, but won't show in XBMC. My movies, in library mode it's not showing the covers most of them, and all of them it's not, if I click info it's coming up with the cover in the info view. I tried deleting my databases and re-scraping with no luck.

Make sure you are not missing the msvcr71.dll and msvcp71.dll files (This has been a common issue with Vista users). If you do have those, then make sure you have the latest Aeon build from git hub. It looked like you had a lot of skin related warnings in there.
I'll check, my skin is the default one with nothing changed at all, I removed XBMC and put the latest build, my movies scraped this time, my music did a better job, but about half or more of my albums have no art still. And I know the ID3 tags are flawless, I spent weeks working on them.
But, I looked in my system32 fold and both the files you mentioned are missing so I'm copying them over and hoping it helps. Thanks for the advice :)
nope copying DLL's + latest build didn't help, and I noticed about 50% that actually have the covers showing, it's showing a cover from a completely wrong album. I don't have the fetch album info checked so I'm not sure why it's pulling covers from different albums. I have a related non XBMC question, is there a program out there that will scan all my music directories and extra a folder.jpg to each? I have about 500 cd's I've ripped, all have imbeded art. Doing it by hand would take a long time. Would like to find a program that can do it for me, but I can't seem to track it down :(

Doing it by hand would take a long time. Would like to find a program that can do it for me, but I can't seem to track it down :(
check out "MuvUnder Cover" - best one i was able to find when i had the same project.

I believe that Billy is working on adding this to Media Companion but it isn't available yet.
welp, I deleted my music database in XBMC, reinstalled the latest SVN and it scrapped MUCH better, still have a decent number of albums with no covers that I know are tagged right, but the fact it did about 75% is a whole lot better than the 10% it was doing before. I'm still puzzled why some are coming up and some aren't. My files are tagged 100% and I don't have it scanning info, just the files.
