View Full Version : XBMC has stopped working
Running Windows 7, tried the latest SVN build and got that message, so I removed it and tried an older one, same thing. It was working tonight, I updated my video card drivers and nothing else. I can't paste a log because it's not letting me get into XBMC to turn the error log on, I don't even know if it would do anything as XBMC gives me the error before it even starts.
what can I do here?
Windows 7 64 bit
CD2 e6550
2 gigs
SVN 19161 & 19293 (tried both)
Just for the record Win7 according to XBMC.org is NOT supported yet.
look at the wiki for enabling debug logging via XML
I got it working, aren't SVN builds not supported according to the dev team too? :) I removed and re-installed the Nvidia drivers and it works. Only thing now is in the settings, anything that had a "browse" like adding a path to the video library or setting a directory for backdrops. It goes into "not responding" mode for about 20-25 seconds. After that it's fine again, menus seem to fly by normally besides that. Maybe it's Win 7, maybe it's just my bad luck I dunno.
you would have to wait for an official response on whats supported in SVN. From what I am reading so far 9.04 is being released as XP and vista compatible just as 8.1 was.
whilst win7 works alot as you can see, I cannot see the worth in officially supporting it until it is not a beta anymore.
thats not to say you wont get support just expect to occasional hit weirdness that no one else will have seen
Essentially you are testing Alpha release software on Beta release OS. The fact it works at all is excellent :)
