Hi,

I have been using XBMC for a while now, but keep running into the problem that when I try to stream anything from the internet, 99% of the time it will not work.

* I already switched from Windows to Xubuntu 8.04
* I lowered the caching & switched it off, as was recommended here on the forum by a few people, but that didn't work.

Here is a pastebin from the XOT-uzg plugin:

http://www.pastebin.ca/1379191

This shows that the media is found:

#
20090401 14:15:09 - INFO - chn_nos.py - 398 - finishing UpdateVideoItem for http://player.omroep.nl/xml/metaplayer.xml.php?aflID=9069332&md5=7304747d92394c34fbfd2b7acf6c865a. Media URL =mms://wm-ondemand10.omroep.nl/ug-ondemand-wm2/wm2c5/ceres/llink/rest/2009/POW_00186290/bb.20090308.asf

From the xbmc.log, I also have a nice pastebin:

http://www.pastebin.ca/1379313

From this, I get the idea that xbmc for some reason can't identify the filetype. Does anybody have an idea on how I can get this issue solved?

Thanks,

TFH

P.S.
Streaming from the internal network works without any problem. My setup: Xubuntu 8.04, xbmc smooth video branch, AMD64 x4 Phenom, 2 gbyte memory.

I am having similar problems. I use Playon though uPnP and get this error and tons of 'buffering' and quitting on XBMC in Linux(VDPAU 18670). I have the same exact connection on my XBOX360 and Playon works fine.

The XBOX360 buffers a lot more before even trying to play - from what I can tell though - there is no longer any way to tell XBMC to buffer more.

Does anybody have some idea what could be wrong here?
