Hi folks,

I cannot get enough system volume when I play a video file in XBMC, if I use media player it is heaps louder.

I have checked all of the system volume controls and they are all set to loudest, am I missing something??

Regards,

Allan

Have you considered cranking it to 11?

That's just a joke. I guess it's worth asking the standard questions. When you say "system," what do you mean? Do you turn Windows up all the way, and then turn XBMC up all the way? And then, after that, you turn your speaker volume up all the way. And, after all that, it still isn't loud enough?

XBMC has it's own volume which isn't linked to the system volume. Use the + and - on your keyboard to adjust them. It took me a minute to figure this out, for something so simple it flew right over my head for a few days.

in the original xbox version of xbmc i remember there being a second control for the volume - to boost a number of db.. kinda wish it was still there.

i've been trying to get all the devices plugged into my tv/home stereo at the same volume - and currently have to have the reciever cranked for my xbmc pc - but then turn the volume down to half what it was when my girlfriend plays her wii..

not sure how to change system volume with the audio over hdmi i'm using other than the 1 xbmc control that doesn't go loud enough to match the rest of my devices volume

If you are using digital passthrough, you can't change the volume. If not, you can raise the volume while playing a video by going to the menu, clicking the audio button, and adjust the volume at the top of the context menu.
