View Full Version : New Media Flags

After the initial questions about hd-dvd and various other flags that djh probably didn't have the time or inclination to make. I took it upon myself to create a couple and post them on the forum for anyone else to use. As it turns out flag creating can be quite addictive! I've decided to put them all in one thread so people can access them if they want. If anyone has any requests please feel free to ask in the the thread and i'll see what i can do. Enjoy!!

can you maybe upp your Includes_MediaFlags.xml where all your new flags are included?

would be very nice and perfect if you could update that file everytime you make new flags

btw.: nice work

i'd like to request ac3.

If you can find me a logo for ac3 i'll make it for you but you should be aware that ac3=dolby digital so the logo should be dolby digital anyway. If you can't find a logo (I can't) i can always make one similar to the mp3 one above.

Heres a flac icon that matches the size of the other audio icons.

you're right thanks. Used the dolby digital logo instead

If you're not too busy, maybe a simple [adult swim] icon? You know, for the ATHF movie..

-- also, I'm having a go at editing the xml file and getting these working. I'll post back when I have some success.

It worked pretty well.. Some of the flags will need tweaking, but they show up. (Which is a start.)

XML:
http://paste2.org/p/175321

My changes are as follows:
Lines 197-211 are added Studios:
Weinstein Company - weinstein *
Focus Features - focus
Home Movies - home *

Lines 259-283 are added audio formats:
DTS-HD - dtshd
DTS-ES - dtses
Dolby TrueHD - dolbytruehd
FLAC - flac
MP3 - mp3

Lines 306-330 are added video formats:
HD-DVD - hddvd *
HDTV - hdtv
H.264 - h264 *
DivX - divx *
XviD - xvid

Problems: (the stars)
With both Weinstein Company & Home Movie logos, it is just too much detail for such a small icon.. You can't see it, and it looks poor. Also, the Weinstein Company logo overlaps logo next to it. (I don't know if that's just HD-DVD, or all. My guess is all, since HD-DVD is smaller than the others.)
H.264 falls into the same category: just too hard to see. DivX has a different problem, it runs into the logo next to it.
The DTS ones have an obvious problem: Stark is loading both the regular DTS logo, and the HD/ES ones. I'll try to fix this without changing the filename indicators, but that might not work.
Also, the DivX icon linked is named "divxd.png" that needs to be renamed to "divx.png".

Edit: Fixed DTS
Line 249 should be:
<visible>substring(listitem.filename,dts) + !substring(listitem.filename,dolbydigital) + !substring(listitem.filename,dtshd) + !substring(listitem.filename,dtses)</visible>
(and is that way here: http://paste2.org/p/175330)

Update:
http://paste2.org/p/175548
This file lets you use the new Studio based flagging:
http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47842
As a hold-over until DJH releases an update. It also works with the new flags that have been posted in this thread.

I'm glad someone had a better idea about how to fix the problems with dts logos, that's why i hadn't posted my xml! That will probably work with the issue to do with G, PG, and PG-13 flagging that had cropped up. I could see the problem was with overlapping flag names but i don't know enough xml to fix it myself. (I'm basically a copy and paste man!) I know a few of the logos need a bit of sprucing up and i am working on it  The dts one looked especially shit but i think i've fixed it now. Will put them all back up again when they're sorted.

On a side note i've had to change the position of the format flag to stop situations where the studio logo overlaps the hddvd logo now moved from 170 pixels from left to 200 pixels from left

http://www.vector-logos.com/

All I have to say. I re-did my entire TV Networks logos based on their collection. They are true vector images, which means you can scale them to whatever size you want with no quality loss. Should have most of the other logos too. ;)

Cool, didn't even know that site existed! All i've been doing is searching for logos on google image search and editing them in photoshop. This site looks much easier

Am i missing something here, or can someone tell me how a HD DVD rip can be in SD? Or is this just to show that tags work, or what?

first make sure you have the xbmc build that is in the stickies, then its just a matter of copy pasteing code that fits (i.e if your putting a audio flag u'd use this code for mp3

<control type="image" id="84">
<posx>1085</posx>
<include>Furniture_ShowcaseMediaFlagsVars</include>
<texture>flags/mp3.png</texture>
<visible>substring(listitem.filename,mp3)</visible>
</control>

see what it searches for and what png it brings up? (also i put the <posx></posx> because i put this code in the wrong place i think)
then you have to put that code in the right place, pu it after a </control> (that means end of code)

This is wrong. DJH is working on making everything work off the database, so you guys don't have to rename all of your movies. When done, it will be

<visible>substring(listitem.studio,mp3)</visible>

Using MIP, we've been able to turn .studio into a superstring that contains the Video Resolution, Audio Channels, Container Format, subtitle language, and the studio name.

What I would love to be able to do is modify the icons.

The ones we have are great but I would love to have a big GOLD 1080p and a silver 720p.

I have seen it like this in another theme and it really looks nice.

This could also be a naming mishap. The HDDVD or BluRay image is taken from the movie filename itself. To show this image, the movie would probably be named:
TMNT.hddvd.mkv
I might not have the tag 100% correct, but that's the right idea.

If MIP is used for the other tags, then it actually looks at the mediainfo content to derive the SD flag. I believe that anything less than 480p is SD content.

This could also be intentional, but because one tag comes from a filename and one from the NFO, there could easily be inconsistencies.
