was wondering if you could put the mpaa rating there, perhaps the imdb rating on the other side? :/

Id like that idea.
Is it possible to have some kind of userconfig if you want a plot window in this view? like if you press up you get a transparent window with the plot above the movie icons? could add the ratings in there also to keep the main view clean.

The problem is not adding all kinds of logos and info all over the place, it's making them be the right distance from each other no matter what logo is used. This screenshot looks right but with the divx tag or the hddvd one the rating would be too close to it.

The other issue is that long titles would overlap that icon, which obviously is unwanted.
This won't happen, I'm afraid. The balance of label and flags in that view is deliberate and won't be officially changed.
