I recently download Aeon Stark (great jon djh, it's amazing), and I was wondering how to add music fanart.

What I want to know is: Is it possible when browsing albums of a particular artist, for a fanart image of them to show up as the backdrop.

I have fanart images of my artists, I just don't know how to add them so that XBMC/AEON will recognize them.

Any Tips?

I'm relatively certain that you just place a fanart.jpg in your artist folder, assuming a structure of Music -> Artist -> Album -> Song. You might need to rescan your music however

thats what I originally thought aswell.

I have a "fanart.jpg" file in my folders, but am having no luck with it showing up. (I did this before I scanned the music into xbmc)

EDIT: Also when in Aeon, when I click on an artist, or album and the "info" screen comes up (which looks great btw) I can click on "Thumb" and a menu will pop up where I can select the thumbnail I want. Theres also a button for "fanart" but it seems to be dead, and nothing pops up when I click on it.

Any ideas?

I had this problem. See this thread for details.

http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47756

Basically I was not getting artist fanart displaying in teh background. It was however showing in the thumbnail. What I had to do ( and still not found another way ) is to go into that artists info and set fanart for that artist. It seems to work by doing each one that way.

Thanks for the reply, and I checked out that thread which helped a bit, but one issue I'm having is that when I go to the artist info (in library), I see the button for the "fanart", but when I select it no menu or dialog box appears, it just sits there like a dead link. I don't have any problem setting the fanart manually, but I'm not even able to get to the menu. Do I have to do this in file mode? Or under the genre section like you did?

Thanks

(oh and on a side note I'm running a current version of XBMC)

oh, one more thin man. I was checking out that thread you started earlier, and I saw that when you selected the blues Genre it showed a picture. Did you add those yourself? because I certainly don't have them :(

Update: if anyone cares!

Updating to a more recent build of xbmc fixed the problem. I was running just the stable Atlantis build last time.
