Problem setting content and scapping

Just been playing with XBMC (8.10 Atlantis)on windows for the last two days. Looks like an awesome tool.

I am having some problems with a few things.

When going to video, I add sources. E.g.

C:\Users\Abba\Desktop\Movies
D:\Movies

I label these Movies and press set content. It asks for a Genre and there are no options, so I add the above without setting content. (I can add a genre called TBA for now, but didnt)

At this point, i cannot get to the scrapper settings or getting any info in. I tried adding a few of the movies to the library manually, but there is no set content option anywhere or being able to set the scrapper source etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

waffa: read that page 3 times, just like the instructions said. i just dont have those options. as i said, when i select content, there are no options. i cannot set it as movie, tv show of music video because that screen the set contents pop up is blank.

wiso: i downloaded the windows version again this morning from this page: http://xbmc.org/download/

same problem. are you suggesting i install this: http://xbmc.org/forum/showpost.php?p=301123&postcount=369

and if so...the original download is 80mb, this 3rd party build is 44mb. do i just install on top of it?

using vista premium sp1, ati3850, quad6600 with 4gb ram.

wow, ok nevermind.

i was and have been only using the mediastream skin. looks like mouse will not work on the <none> set contents value or arrows so nothing was happening. accidently used keyboard arrows and pressed enter on none and voila, options for movies, music video and tv shows.

mouse pretty much works on everything else, not that.

as a side note, with each new build, official or third party, do you suggest uninstalling and doing clean installs or can you install over the existing install?

Go for the uninstalling.
Your userdata will be saved in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\XBMC.

So put also your skins, sounds, plugins and scripts in that folder and those wil also be saved.
