I've been looking for a couple of days, apologies if I've missed it! But is it possible to power on the xbox using the controller? I've been looking into keymaps which seem to say that would be possible with a remote but is it possible with the controller?

only if you mod your box with something to recieve the on signal.. think you can find something about it on xbox-scene

google xir and you will find what you need. Installs in 5 minutes with no trouble and does all you need.

Actaully spiff, you are mistaken. X3 IR-Mod can be installed to a unModded Xbox. I have one and I can turn on/of xbox with any remote controll i want. X3 just have be to programmed with PC first.

I think that's what Spiff meant by a "hardware mod" :)

I'm using the "easy" kits to control all my xboxes, and the pro kit to control my HTPCs.

Presumably the v2 beta is newer... Surely you can read through the feature sets of each and decide which fits your needs best.

i put a momentary push button on the bottom of my controller and routed one of the wires to the power button inside the xbox.. takes a little work but super handy.
