Hi people. I don't know how hard it is to implement: read a MPG video file from Hard Disk while it's being recorded from a TV channel by other software.
My intention is to use XBMC as a TIVO, like I do with SageTV. In Sage, I use DVBDream to record a TV program and use SageTV to watch this program 2 seconds after the record begins. I've read the forum and discovered some people using VLC to stream to XBMC, but I guess the simplest way is trying to read the file while it's begin recorded in the Hard Drive. I've tested SageTV with DVBDream, TheaterTV, ProgDVB and others, and works very fine. I can pause, play, rewind easily.
Maybe if XBMC try to open this file only for reading without exclusive rights is enough to work (I'm not sure).

Sorry my bad english.
