Who are "they"?

And the linux community is very friendly and helpful, but this is the XBMC community. There aren't as many linux experts here as there are on actual linux forums. I suggest you look for your information on the Ubuntu forums, as that's what XBMC from Linux is built from

for DVB-S.... get a GenPix Skywalker.

I would also suggest looking at a different website for support. My personal opinion is that "dvbn" is by far, the best DVB-S / Linux website.
