View Full Version : Would you buy an official XBMC T-shirt?
what about creation and selling of xbox media center t-shirts?
it can be a fine way to finance the project. pheraps many will buy one.
pheraps you can do that with http://www.cafeshops.com/
they print and sell t-shirts on demand, so i don't think you have to invest money in that.

well, the question is: if xbmc t-shirts were available, you'll be interested in buying one?

if the shirt had a nifty logo on it i would. nothing 2-bit or dumb looking.
well, i confirm that selling and delivering gadgets with cafepress is absolutely free (i mean, there is no setup cost). too bad there is no feedback from the developers about this idea.

first, or just use the x box logo and put xboxmediacenter below it

you developers should contact cafeshop and send them a logo or two.
they will create the gadgets and sell them on demand.
and you get part of the profits.

cafeshop would sell t-shirts for you, you just get the money.
you don't become a t-shirt reseller by doing that: you are not a beggar because there is a "donate" banner on xbmc site !

(btw, we are already planning a other unrelated contest for xbmc and that one take priority for now for any prize offer)

maybe a box of kudos would be enough for a logo contest. think about your logo on the official websites, the main screen of the xbmp/c app, on t-shirts, or maybe tattooed to the teammembers chest :d .

when all the necessary changes to the logo will be done, it will be possible to let that site create and sell your t-shirt, by sending you money for every item sold. too bad a credit card is needed to register the site, and i do not have one...
if one of the developers would register about cafeshop that will be the best choice, anyway: the funds are charged into *that* account.

(ps! of source it has to be at least an xbmc-team member that registers and runs it, so please don't take any initiatives yourself)

ps, hem, just to let you know my insignificant opinion... i don't like that logo at all :)

i really like the finalized logo. so is anyone going to step upto the plate and get this started? i really want an xbmc t-shirt.
side q: who did x-s go through for their shirts?
to follow up.. it seems like doing this through cafepress.com is a no-brainer. *you send them the logo, and say what stuff you want to provide, and then set a price. *how easy is that?
though, i do imagine the actual $$ return you will get going through them is very minimal, since they are doing all the work (well, besides the logo you provide:))
another follow up.. i did a quick test of what the shirt would look like through cafepress. you dont' need to register a cc-card with the site, at least i didn't have to. they just mail you a check.
