Why is this subforum called "MC360 take one skin (and mods for/of it)."?
Is there something planned for MC360, like a new version?

I think it would be so cool if MC360 was modified out the wazoo so it would perfectly fit with any of the XBMC versions on HTPC. It's just SO much work, but then again it was a ungodly amount of effort to make MC360 "Take One".
Boy am I anxious to see whats coming.
You know the funny thing is I agree with you I always liked the blades and animations that mc360 had (better than the current 360 dash). I even decided to do something about it a few months ago :nod:
guess I'm not very good at fishing :rolleyes: so think I might throw in some better bait :laugh:

hehe btw this actually has no reason as to why the forum is named take 1 :P I still have no idea why its named that but I assume its like XBMCG33k said that MS have redisgned the 360 so this is take 1

Well the planets and stars have aligned as a result we will have a new MC360.
This isn't a team bb skin is it?

It looks REALLY nice! I am nearly speechless.
Nah its just a me in my spare time redoing it
Basically Its not going to be like the original and be true to the original 360 design I'm just taking the concept of blades pages and animations and making it how I see fit so don't expect a total remake

I see that this is definitely not a remake of the 360 skin. Inspired-by type of work. It is elegant and updated and not limited like MC360 in the way that this skin wont look and feel like a replica. I am REALLY feeling this one.
I don't know what you meant exactly by that last sentence. If you mean it will be a while then I can wait, I don't ever wanna make someone feel rushed to give even more to the community.
This skin does look truly amazing.

nah it wont be going into the regular mc360 svn it will be classed as a new skin with a different name

Now why in hell don't microsoft do theres like that better still employ jezzX to do it,

Looks awesome Jezz_X. I personally love MC360, but because my xbox is a media centre I find the views don't fit in with what I require. Which is why for a time I was using the DVD Wrap view in MC360 and that was quite good. I put a lot of time into getting my posters right, and I want to be able to see the product of my work on the screen. Lookng foard to seeing a release

Damn Jezz. I really like how you're taking the 4-blades interface and giving it a facelift. Russ Glaser should have contacted you to team up with MS to design the 360's original interface.
Can't wait to see this in the xbmc skinning svn.
damm Jezz_X, now there are 2 skins I will constantly be checking on lol! I cannot wait for this and the other PM# type skin ur working on to finally drop. this is soooo sexy! I never was a fan of mc360 but this looks so hot. You are a pro sir. Take your time but I will be jumping on this as soon as it is out.

Xbox360 style skin).I am going to compile a tutorial of how to customise your own 'theme' for Mc360t requires that you know the following-Transferring files over to Xbox.Have a basic knowledge of Photoshop (or any other program which allows image creation especially in PNG format).It also requires that you have the latest 'T3CH' build of XBMC and also the latest 'Blackbolt MC360' skin to go with it.I will write two versions, one in standard 'Notepad' form the other in 'Word' format. I will personally upload tools and other helpful files to a personal upload share site.

So here is a link to the current version source (http://blackbolt.x-scene.com/Jezz_X/MC360_New_Source.rar) (don't expect much) all the animations for the main windows (no views) are done pretty much no dialogs except the ones posted here in screenshots
Really it shouldn't be too hard for someone (who knows what they are doing) to finish it off pretty quick I have done all the hard animation bits.
P.S this was a complete rewrite from scratch using Basics-Vision as a source so don't expect all undone bits to look anything like the old mc360

If this helps whomever working on this.......I have a copy of MC360 that I was playing with that has FanArt in the Video Library View called "Media Info". Works in Movies and Television, but still needs to be implimented into Episodes, and Music. Plus, a "Get FanArt Button needs to be placed in there too.
I could up screenshots of it later or just post the folder here tomorrow? If anyone wants to fisish it......Share the credit.
Offer is out there...............
Any old mc360 code probably wont help (much) because this skin is done in 720p the old one was done in PAL4x3

Can still post a screeny of that FanArt mod, if ya wanna see how it looked.....maybe it will inspire something a lil' sharper from someone like you, Jezz.

besides views and dialogs is there anything else that is left incomplete? please elaborate on what needs to be done.

to be honest its been so long I can't really remember :) but pretty sure what I posted above is all that needed doing.
I guess its a test it out yourself thing it should work perfectly fine until you start getting into lower dialogs. And I doubt it will lock up anything

Would it bother you jezz_x or anyone else if I asked questions as I try to do work on this skin? It may be a lot of questions over the next many weeks.
I'd like to see it progress further and I am just going to dive into the xml as best as I can. I have already done a little work on adding a new view, so I have that figured out a bit. And I also edited a couple dialogs to be cleaner.
Anywho, what xml do I have to edit for this dialog?

Not sure if this would be of benefit to anyone, but I downloaded Jezz_X's semi-complete Skin and merged it with the current MC360 skin already in XBMC. So far everything is working quite nice, a few missing things such as the Favorites menu when hitting start, and other various anomalies. Otherwise, I like the layout of the skin much better than the orginial MC360.
XBMC is running on an old CRTV at 4:3 so having larger icons makes it much easier to preview shows. Cheers to Jezz_X by the way! :nod:
Install procedure:
Load up original MC360 Skin. http://blackbolt.x-scene.com/skins/xbmc/mc360/download/MC360_XBMC-Rev2159-11thMay2009.zip
Verify proper operation then FTP Jezz_X's update over the MC360. I had to open several folders until both the original MC360 folders and Jezz_X's 360 folders matched. Then I uploaded and had the eye candy waiting at the Xbox. Hope this helps someone! :D
