Hi!
i am in trouble here: as soon as hold the "menu button", to scan a folder, XBMC crashes... i happens with all skins...
Can somebody help please?

It happens on Apple TV. When I am in Videos and the cursor is on the left menu I hold down the Menu button and it crashes.

I don't see anything useful in xbmc.log. See my sig to get console.log and crashreporter log which will be much more important.

bump for added console log finally. fresh errors in there too.
Hard to tell what is going on. I suggest moving to one of the 3rd party builds that is closer to the current svn source code.

attempting to apply the latest atv build I failed. I used HFSExplorer on vista to extract the dmg. Then followed the instructions and all went OK. Yet atv would bounce back to finder when attempting to launch xbmc. I must have been an error during the .dmg extraction. Was getting duplicate folder exists message, do you wish to rename?
I then did a factory reset on the atv. And ran the patchstick and all from scratch. Back on the PM skin by default now after a successful flash. Yet same issue still occurs, added a source. Then hold menu for scan, crash back to xbmc home screen occurs.

I'm confused. It goes back to xbmc homescreen or back to Finder?
Also, which versions? ATV seems 2.3, Launcher? XBMC?
Please post again with the new logs. I just tried on ATV 2.3, Launcher 0.9 atlantis-bf1 and everything seems to work fine.

hah, in the old days before iPhone, devs didn't consider going back to home screen could be a crash :)
yes i used my apple remote and taught my harmony one the codes. Been using that since day 1.
Now when I hold the menu button it seems to just issue several menu commands. I see it bouncing back to the step before. As the menu button should, yet holding it doesn't bring up the submenu.
perhaps your suspicsions were correct. After noticing the above from the harmony remote. I pulled out my iphone and got the xbmc remote app. Added the contextual menu to the remote, and all was OK. So the app has no issue at all carrying out my command for the menu. This is probably an error with the harmony remote and how it doesn't know what to do when I hold down a button. It only knows the base command of menu, not the secondary command of hold menu for contextual menu.
Lessone learned. Hopefully the logs will assist in other areas.

while this thread (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39209)is quite long it may have some insights about programming the harmony. IIRC the Harmony should be able to learn the "Hold" command from the Apple Remote.
