DVD ripping

Dear all,

im using svn xbmc on fedora 8.

is it there any chances to make xbmc have dvd ripping feature..for example in XBMC gui already have option to do cd ripping...can we do the same way for dvd ripping as well..by using any 3rd party scripts and so on..its will be very good if we can do the dvd ripping from xbmc it self.

nothing anyone on the team have expressed any interest in doing but surely a patch would be welcome

I would venture to guess that this is very possible. Especially since XBMC has CSS decryption available. Ripping is pretty trivial. Could do an ISO image, or use a tool like vobcopy. Transcoding is where it gets a bit more complicated. Though ffmpeg is available w/ XBMC, so it would seem that all of the pieces to the puzzle are there.
