Definitive Music Genre

Hi, Hope nothing like this has been posted before but could not find anything.

One thing I like in my music browsing is a clean simple way of finding what I like. Most of the time I will always start off browsing by genre to find the type of music I am in the mood for at that time.

When tagging all my music ( 20,000 albums in total ) I have atempted to reduce the number of genres down to the basics and group things together. I do this I the last thing I want is a thousand genres to search through.

My post here is for 2 things..

1. Has anyone already worked out a good compact genre list

2. Does anyone have a source for any fanart for genre...very tough thing to get from my experiences :)


I have posted an image here of what my genre section looks like with my cut down genre list and one of the genre fanart images I found on net to suit the genre. Would love it if someone knew of a good source for images as I am stuck on most of the genres lol
