Hi,

Got a strange network issue with XBMC-Live (installed to HDD): every 2nd or 3rd boot the network connection isn't coming up. I'm kind of a Linux noob but I've checked the obvious: cables, switch etc. dhcp server is up, xbmc configured correctly etc. Could it be that the DHCP request times out or something ? What logging to check ?

Thnx !

A good place to start is /var/log/messages

Check your DHCP Leases and see if an IP that the server is trying to assign is already taken.

I noticed my FiOS router wasn't handing out a DHCP address quick enough, so I set mine to static, which solved the problem.
