On http://xbmc.org/wiki/?title=9.04_Release_Schedule you can see that the 9.04 release should be called something starting with the letter B.
"Initial Alphas
Estimated release date: Sometime in March
Contents:
1. Codename for the upcoming release set by Team-XBMC, (the codename will be something referencing a movie or TV-show and starts with the letter 'B')."

Is this name decided? If not, can people in the forum have a say in the matter?
I personally vote for Babylon as in Babylon 5 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105946/) or Babylon A.D. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364970/).

Thats funny coz when I read that months ago my first thought was Babylon. I reckon thats the right way to go.

And as well as TV shows they are both also ancient mythical city's :)

i'm not saying really suggesting anything here, but for some reason the first thing that came to mind was "Boromir." Like, the guy from LOTR.

Babylon was the first thing that I thought of as well. Although boobs is a close second.

Not really, I know Babylon was a real place in what is now Iraq. The word I should have used is Mystical maybe.

You know what I mean, they stir up the same kinds of images.

Personally i would go with Boondock as in Boondock Saints....fantastic indie film that is just as cool as XBMC.

Slice

P.S. From the looks of it we have a lot of Babylon fans here...personally i don't care for that genre of sifi but what ever does it for you right? just an observation

The suggestions I like so far: Boondock, Buffy, Battlestar.

Baywatch would be an awesome choice as well, though. :) Babylon is good and all, but it feels... predictable?

I appreciate your support for my suggestion! I was going to go with Buffy the Vampire Slayer s06e07 - Once More With Feeling, but figured the name was a little too long.

I felt pretty good about the humor though.

Gotta be Battlestar....

Babylon isn't bad, a close second, but Battlestar is more contemporary... odd as that may sound to those who remember the original.

how about we just compromise. Some sort of combination perhaps...Babylstar the born-again biatch slayer? We can work on the details

XBMC Battlestar... XBMC Buffy... seriously?? Those are ridiculous.Hmmm... there are Buffy episodes which truly have nothing ridiculous about them (The Body comes to mind). In any case, I mentioned Brazil as well.

I just realized, nobody's mentioned Borat. It could be accompanied by a nice little borat-ism as the release slogan haha

XBMC: Borat - Jak sie masz? I like you. I like sex. Is niiice! Would you like to make sexy time?

Ok...maybe not completely relevant

or maybe....The bird? Cause, well, haven't you heard about the bird? Everybody knows that the bird is the word...

Of course, I remain a great proponent of Buffy.

Holy moly, I think we have a winner! Who wants to get started on the publicity banners? Seriously, I love this one lol

EDIT: sadly, a search on imdb for "badonkdonk" yielded no results. Who wants to make a quick short film?

++ For Battlestar!!!

Maybe someone can get Edward James Olmos to record a voiceover.
Then again, might be better to wait for a "G" release. XBMC Galactica sounds cooler.
