Hi,

I bough a new computer last month to serve as my media center and I've been using MediaPortal so far, but during the whole month, MediaPortal's been driving me nuts with a lot of things. I decided to try XBMC and why haven't I decided to go with XBMC in the first place? It just works, out of the box, not like MediaPortal that needs hundreds of hacks just to make it work the way we want it.

Anyway, I'm glad I tried XBMC and I'm having a couple of issues/questions...

1) I have enabled the "Programs" entrie in the main menu but what exactly is it for? What can I have there? How do I place stuff there?

2) Why that in some places you call this software "XBMC Media Center", like in the start menu folder? Isn't kinda redundant because the MC in XBMC stands for Media Center, right? Just wondering...

3) Is it possible to remove one or two locations for the Weather? I'm actually interested in only two locations to know the weather about. And it sucks a bit that I have to go through a third location (that I don't care about) when going through the weather conditions for all the cities.

This are, somewhat, some basic questions and so I decided to post them here, I have lots more, but they are going to sepecific threads with proper thread titles to get more atention from the guys that are more confortable with the subject at hand.

Congrats on XBMC, it's really a nice piece of software.

Hi well what could programs be for......let me think....i have the answer Programs......
Sorry i feel a bit sarcastic today. No the programs section is or was really intended for xbox apps and games
And as far as i know has no real use on windows so i would remove that if i were you( i assume your using PM3HD) with regards to the name XBMC in the early day's it meant Xbox Mediacentre, now there saying
XBMC(as one word) Media centre But they want to drop the use of the word xbox as it's nearly extinct

I use the programs area and then visit the program plugin so I can run the SVN installer, which gives you more addons/scripts/plugins. Grab the Hulu one it rocks. ;)

As for the weather I personally just ignored it and then lately my daughter moved to a different state so now I can check her weather, mine and my folks.

Right, but I only care about 2 locations really... There's no reason to force a specific number of locations, we should be allowed to select how many locations we want to monitor. Even go beyond 3 if some people have the need for it, it shouldn't be such a problem to do this... I think!

No one has any ideas about the weather thing. I just want to know if it's possible or not, if it ain't, I'll gladly make a feature request on the Trac, but I need to know if it's already possible or not.
