XBMC remote tunes:
I would like to float the following idea, I call it remote tunes.
What problem am I trying to solve?
I would like to have the ability to play the same Music(primarly) and maybe video on multiple XBMC's all in sync.
Why?
Well I have a thumping home theatre, and a decent setup in my Family room too.
When I have parties I need to turn the Lounge room stereo up so loud so that it is not comfortable to stand in the room.
By having 2, 3 or even 4 XBMC's playing the same Music(in-sync), I could have each stereo turned to a respectable level in each room and my system would behave similar to a Sonos or other very expensive multi-room music system.
On a technical level, I am not sure why this couldnt be acheived by sending out some simple UDP packets to other XBMC's stating what they should be playing and where they are up to.
From the user perspective, I should just need to elect ONE of my XBMC's to be the master, and specify the IP address of each additional 'Save' XBMC instance.
Thoughts?
