Hi I have a MCE remote working with XBMC for windows.
It works fine when I am using XBMC.
If I put the machine on standby the remote will even wake up the pc, but after that the remote does not work. I have to close XBMC and open it again for the remote to become active again does anyone know why this is and is there a way to fix this?

Hi. When formulating a question about XBMC, make sure to provide the necessary information.
In this case, a good way to start is by saying what software are you using to make the remote communicate with XBMC.

Hi again.
I am using windows xp with service pack 3
I am using MCE remote with IR server suite.
I followed the tutorial that is listed on the forum and is working fine only issue is the remote stops responding once I wake up the PC from standby

That's a common problem with IR Server Suite. I think they're working on fixing it, but until then you have to find a workaround.
The problem is that the IR Server Suite service hangs on resume. I think the service is called InputService. You need to manually restart the process when resuming. I have a vbscript that I have fire off when the PC resumes. The Translator app that comes with IR Server Suite facilitates this.
I don't have the script in front of me right now, I'll post it when I get a chance. If you know anything about vbscript, it's really easy to find articles on Google detailing how to do it. On my computer, the key is to have the script wait about five seconds before it restarts the service.
Use EventGhost and you'll solve your problems.

I spent one month trying to get help and ended up learning it pretty much by myself. The tool is extremely powerful and works like a charm with XBMC.
where can i find a config file to eventgost? i did find one, but this gives me errors in evntghost, and when xbmc starting, it`s no remote support..
I would like eventghost to start xbmc with remote support in vista x86... ?
