View Full Version : Visual indications when adjusting subtitles synch?

Coming from ZoomPlayer (which I chose because it was the only one, back then, allowing me to resynch subs on the fly, like XBMC allowed on Xbox) I now miss the visual cues that the OSD shows (+100ms, -200ms) on top of the video being played back.

Is this something that could be added to XBMC? Probably something similar could exist for audio resynch as well.

the subtitle/audio sync slider bars already have exactly that underneath them.

I know that, but if you have familiarity with how the subs scene work for TV Series... unfortunately sometimes you find subs that are synched to a different version of the episode, with TV ads cut away differently, with the "previously on..." missing when it's in the video or subbed when it's not in video, and so on and so forth.

With Zoom Player, there's an OSD element that appears when you use the command to resynch subs and XBMC allows you (thank God!) to map the same command to a remote or keyboard button. In that case you never access the bars you are referring to, which is disruptive of the video experience, you just use your remote and synch away.

Having a visual confirmation of how much plus or minus factor you have set it's useful for better and faster resynching on the fly.

Actually, MPC-HC has the same visual info, KMplayer has the same visual info. It's not just Zoom Player. If you use the function it's something you find useful, I tell you.
