Hi,

it might be a trivial question, but I cant find answers.

My problem:

I store all my media on a server, streaming them to a quiet HTPC in my living room, both running Windows XP pro SP3.

Now I am able to remotely wake the server anytime I access the shares. What I cant figure out is how to set it up to suspend automaticaly when shared files are not accesed, lets say for certain period of time. Tried the windows power uptions, but they only monitor users activity (idle means no mouse or keyboard activity). Also tried few shutdown managers but no success so far. I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

I did a quick search around the 'tubes' and found this program that you can configure to shutdown a system if the network traffic drops below a certain amount. It can monitor several system processes to customize the shutdown requirements. I've never used it though, but might be what you're looking for.
