Adding CD collection via fake files

Hi,

I have read this page in the wiki

and could upload all my movie collection on DVD. Since I don't want to convert all my cd's to mp3's, I would like to create fake files for this music collection as well.
What's the right process? Should I create empty folders or empty mp3's? Is there a way to add the cd's only at album level (ie, importing only artist+title)?

...it is mainly focused on DVD. Is the process the same for music CD's?
