View Full Version : No selection icon in DVD menus

I'm running XBMC 8.10 SVN:16188 on Ubuntu 8.10 and I have a large library of DVDs on my hard drive. The DVD plays back find on XBMC, but I am having two problems

1. When looking at the DVD menu I don't have any selection icons. If I navigate blind I can get to the correct selection, but it is difficult without the icons.

2. I have "Attempt to skip introduction before DVD menu" deselected, and "Enable Edit and Decision Lists" selected in the video settings. About half of the introduction before the menu is played, the rest is automatically skipped (fast forwarded)

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

1. This must be DVD specific? I've had a cursor on any dvd I've tried. You'll have to elaborate, a debug log may be helpful (put it on pastebin.com).

2. This feature is known not to work on every dvd, hence the "Attempt to" prefix. Sounds like a pretty valiant effort to me, at least you didn't have to watch the whole thing.

I knew I couldn't be the only one with the problem, but I couldn't come up with the right term to search the boards for (until you mentioned "cursor"). I found the solution below in setting the "Interlaced Handling" to something besides "deinterlace". It apparently has been fixed in the latest SVN. Thanks for the help!

for issue #2: It is working really well to skip the introductions, but I don't want them skipped. Is there a way to check to understand why XBMC believes it should be skipping the introductions?

I must've misread #2 first time...anyway I see the same thing, and I think there's a ticket on trac for this issue already.
