Recently, i upgraded my cable TV to HDTV.The servicer provided a set-top box that support video-out.I want to handle TV through my home-media box that is a gentoo linux based PC.

Architecture:

videoin videoout |---->LCDTV (HD Movie)
set-top box --->gentoo media center ---------->|---->LCD TV (HDTV)
|---->LCD TV (MP3, Photos)

The set-top box only support S-Video and composite video(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composite_video).

Does XBMC for linux support those?

Thanks in advance!:cool:

BTW, the motherboard's TV handing CHIP is conexant 2388x that linux support.

Welcome to the forums.

XBMC doesn't support any form of video input directly. You may be able to create an appropriate stream with some other software that you can then connect to with XBMC.

BTW, you may wanna cancel that HD service if your box only supports those two outputs. HD is only available over component and hdmi.

Are you sure you don't mean component not composite? As Al says, composite and s-video can't handle HD signals.
