Audio Question

I am looking to upgrade my xbox to an AppleTv.

Does the Appletv output audio digitaly and analog at the same time?
i assume if the source is analog it would do both, this is how xbox works.

My AVR has a zone 2, but can only send analog sources to the zone 2, so need to make sure I can send music or last.fm out to my zone 2.

As far as I know the answer is no. You need to choose digital audio in XBMC and if you try to listen through the analog output all you get is a high pitched shriek.

I have exactly the same problem,zone 2 with only analog source, so I can only hear radio on my zone 2. Did you got any way of solving this? Is there a way to send analog audio from xbmc (ATV) so I can hear my videos on zone 2?
