View Full Version : Request: XBMC for Mac SVN Build with LaunchPlayer (external player) patch applied
Hi,
there is currently a patch which allows to use an external player with XBMC:
(which is already included in the SVN)
http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35452&highlight=external&page=1
unfortunately there is no SVN build for OSX which uses it.
Could someone *PLEASE* build an OSX build with the current SVN sources and included externalplayer patch? I am not a coder...
Thanks,
TvonT

Last I knew the patch was platform dependent. Hence useless on OSX. I haven't been following its progress though as I'm against the idea, so this may have changed.

No, not quite true. It adds an option via an "advancedsettings.xml" to the XBMC to allow the use of an external player. Just have a look to the link above. The patch should also work on OSX and linux - but nobody tested it until now.

I'm not sifting through 52 pages to find a link to the ticket, which should've been posted in the first place.

Hi,
after one week of no response I ask again: Is someone willing to do a SVN build with launchplayer patch applied? Or is OSX so out-of-interest??? I have seen that someone already did a linux build...
Thanks,
TvonT
you have everything you need to do it yourself, so what's the problem? instructions are in svn, the diff is on trac, all tools needed are free.
read and learn - that's what those mythical 'coders' did as well.
why wait for weeks for others to do what you can do yourself today?

Thanks, this was not very helpful.
...because I do full-time work in network administration for different customers, because I have family, because I have 2 kids, because I never compiled something on OSX...to make it simple: I have no time. Those are the reasons I did not do a build by myself until now. I know how much work it is to start from scratch, I am using VDR for Linux for a while...
Someone who already compiled XBMC on OSX just needs to apply the actual patch and do a make.
nevertheless...if all you can offer are platitudes, I have to. And nevertheless again, I will make the binaries available for the community.
