Adding a new button to main screen on PM3?

HI

I love PM3 but would love to add a new button called "kids Movies" to the front screen that will link in with a smb share on a server.

Can anyone help on where to edit the home.xml file as when I have tried, I have nearly knocked over xbmc all together from loading.

Not entirely sure on how to link to the shared folder though.
