hey guys,

So here is what Iv got.

an asus board with nvidia card, dvd, audio and network.

so I got the live cd and installed it on a usb 4gb drive.

I booted up with the usb stick and it seemed pretty good.

i didnt have any sound though, so I looked it up and did the ctrl+alt+f2 and typed alsamixer. that took me to the mixer where I basically unmuted everything.

so that was fine. then I wanted to get the network working.

i manager to get it working on a wired network after a few restarts and changing stuff on my router.

but I really need it to be wireless.

I have a "tp link" wireless adapter that im trying to use.

when I turn off xbmc and plug the usb wireless in, the network setting still say eth1(or eth0).

so I unplugged the wired lan and rebooted again, samething happened.

so I reinstalled on the 4gb stick and then it said wlan0.

but Im completely unable to adjst settings. then I was wondering if xbmc would be able to use this random wlan usb card at all.

so I guess what im asking is, is there a step by step on making the wireless work. I found a post that told me how to "un-grey" the network settings but I wasnt able to find the text it reffered to.

i have many other questions but i need to figure out this wlan thing asap so I will focus on that in this post.

(long time xbmc'er, new to live and linux)

thanks

I would like to have WLAN too.
Is there a tutorial how to make a AVM Fritz-USB-Stick working on xbmc?
This stick works fine on Ubuntu, but it installs drivers automatically. probably its not that easy on xbmc!?!
