This is my first post. I am writing this to thank everyboby for your precious help, I almost got XBMC Live fully working as I wanted.

I am an highly technical person, I've been using XBMC on Xbox since it came out. I want high def now and I was really hoping to use XBMC Live in my living room like I was doing with my Xbox.

I know, most problems are related to video drivers. Our friends from ATI and Nvidia are stubborn and they keep their little secret for themselves!

I tried a lot of different video hardware, starting from ATI an x600 to an Nvidia 9500GT and few in between. I had major video tearing with every ATI cards I tried even when enabling Blank Vsync.

Yesterday I tried two nvidia cards... almost no tearing but my screen blinks once in a while and videos are not fluid as they should be, even with an intel e8400!

So I give up for now, after spending countless hours trying to sort things out! I'm gonna be using this PC in my office and I will get a second PCH... even if the interface is ugly and slow compare to XBMC!

I'll come back in 6 mounts to see where you guy are with the development, I love XBMC too much to give up for good! The products is great and the features are exactly what I want... keep up the good work!

Thanks

I had that problem as well, set scaling to bilinear and the top option )cannot recall) to auto select and then in settings I set vblank to only use when playing back videos.

Did you try and copy a file to your local drive and test it there.

regards,

Dave

Thanks for the suggestions... tried all that!

BTW... PCH can play 1080p, if you don't know things like that avoid posting.

Thanks

Sorry if I offended someone, I didn't mean to.

The thing is, when you don't have right information to post... then don't post!

My PCH is way smoother than my Intel e8400 trying to decode a 1080p video in realtime!

No offense!

He specifically mentioned L5.1 profile, though. Is Popcorn hour able to handle that?
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=6864 it appears it is, with some exceptions.
