Trying to install the live CD to a USB Flash disk that is labled "2GB". The installer reports the size as 1998MB and says you need atleast 2GB to install. Is there any way to trick it?

I'd recommend you to follow this guide (you'll need a linux system):

I've sucesfully installed a couple of days ago XBMC in a 1GB pendrive.

I installed to 2Gb using liveCD without problem with additional ext3 file system disk in 1 GB
