View Full Version : XBMC can't see plugins
I'm running xbmc 8.10 atlantis on ubuntu hardy & I have a plugins folder with the svn repo installer inside of it, but I can't get XBMC to see it. I've watched the video on how to add a plugin, but that didn't help out. I thought that when I went to programs, it should see the svn repo installer all by itself. Am I wrong or what else do I have to do?
I know that in windows, I didn't have to do anything special, as that plugin was already included and worked after I install XBMC. Help please!
I've did a though search on this problem & only found one old post that didn't get an answer & I've read on how to add a plugin, but no luck there either.

It should included on linux too, so long as you installed via PPA. Launch it from the favorites menu (blue guy in the bottom right corner of the default skin). If that's not the case we're going to need a bit more info than "...I have a plugins folder with the svn repo install inside it...". Where is this folder? What is the _exact_ structure of said folder? We can't fix anything if you can't describe the problem properly.
thanks for responding - well I reinstalled XBMC 8.10 & when using mediastream, I can go configure system --> favorites --> SVN repo installer... but when I press enter on it, it just gives me a blank window with nothing to do. I've checked XBMC/PLUGINS/PROGRAMS/SVN REPO INSTALLER/ & the contents of the plugin are inside... I'm at a loss

Enable debugging, restart xbmc, try to run svn repo installer, quit xbmc, upload the log to pastebin.com or similar.
thanks for the reply & the idea -- never used the debugging feature before and it helped a lot - I found out that I didn't have a programs/svn repo intaller folder in my /home/jamie/.xbmc/plugins/ folder (which I only thought initially there was only a /usr/share/xbmc folder)... now I know what to look for -
