I just tried this and this plugin has high quality cover art. It's amazing. I was using the xtv skin and it shows even when you click on the coverart the directory it opens up even has cover art but I noticed not in horizon which is strange.
I even noticed that you can go to movie information and it gives the plot line but not the cast. I wonder if these are things voinage can do or if it has to be done through the team at freemedia.tv?
Lastly I noticed in poster mode and wall mode in horizon it does not show the plot line and movie info if you were to highlight a movie but leave it for a few seconds. This works with your movie library from HDD but if it could work with divx streams then that would be even more awesome.

The Cast info has been scraped and passed to the setinfo but it will not appear.
The code is in and correct.
at least Nuka or xbmc devs.

info contains the plot which is fine and the cast string ?
The skins errors are it`s own nothing to do with my plugin...and i have included all the info that i could find, slippy.
FreemediaTv have nothing to do with editing my plugin.

Okay but can you tell me if this is possible. If freemediatv were to modify their site with a specially formatted template for xbmc with stacked 2 CD AC3 5.1 divx movies, movie info such as film run time, cast info, imdb rating, certificate rating, apple movie trailer. Then would your plugin then automatically show the movie with all that data. This way it would then appear in xbmc like all your other movies that are backed up to the hard drive.
Would this be possible?

I'll be the first to admit that Voinage is a plug-in genius with mad skills. Unfortunately, the people in charge of freemediatv most likely don't care (no offense Voinage). You're asking the wrong people to change the layout of the site.
To answer your question of "would this be possible" I guess the answer would be "yes", but highly unlikely. However, there is a very high chance that Voinage will get a laugh out of this question and that's probably as far as it's going to go.
Yeah voinage may get a laugh out of this, but honestly if it could be done or hey even if someone was to create a new divx streaming site like that it would be absolutely incredible. But the fact that you say it can be done gives me hope for someone to do it. I would email freemediatv if I could find their contact details, I cannot see any listing on their site.

Sorry if I was unclear and have given you a false sense of hope. I only said that it was possible because just about anything is possible on the internet. It's not likely to happen though. Sites like freemediatv get money from the ads on their sites which are bypassed when watching XBMC unless they use a hulu-like approach and hardcode them into the videos which would suck.
There are streaming sites that pop up all the time, but they often get shut down just as fast. Stage 6 was the ultimate, but it wasn't making enough money which caused it to shut down. It takes loads of money to form sites that stream high quality movies. I've been following vreel.net for several months now and have seen the numerous monetary and techical problems they've run into which have caused them to stay in beta for half a year.
From all I've read and learned about XBMC, I seriously doubt that it would sponsor and maintain a pirating site. Also, XBMC is done by volunteers so the money isn't there. Finally, it would be a constant fight with various legal systems and take focus away from the main goal of making the best open source media center possible.
If I'm out of line with any of this feel free to correct me and I'm sorry for helping digress the thread. I did refer to freemediatv several times though and love the plugin!

I can see where your coming from on the legal side and all that.
Instead of embedded an add into each video start like hulu, freemediatv could just create into a plugin for xbmc a ad that runs just before the movie but not actually in the movie. This way they could still make their money. I think it would be a awesome feature.
But can you tell me this for a site like stage 6 to of lasted how much money would they of needed each month for the site to run well?

I had realized this a short while ago, they would break the script as there losing money as xbmc does not display ads. Don't worry I won't say anything. But I could tell them to create their own plugin that adds to ads to xbmc. This way they wouldn't know if there is already a plugin for xbmc. Of course I am not doing anything now, this was all just an idea.
I have started getting this a lot but in different divx streaming plugins movies won't resume from last position. This seems to differ from different skins in use. I was just using freemediatv plugin and on some movies I exited but could not resume but then suddenly on another movie I could resume. I thought I should bring this up to see if anyone else is having this issue. I am using horizon 3 skin. I tried this in xtv and that won't resume movies but horizon does which is strange.

This is bloody brilliant are the normal none veoh RTMP or flv as the quality and no buffering is damn great.
I wouldn`t laugh at this Nic, it`s a waste of my time and effort when people are inconsiderate for their own personal tastes.

They will already know there is a plugin for xbmc , a simple google search will bring up this thread along with your constant questions which reveal a lot. My plugin page appears very quickly also.
If the cache on Z: doesn`t contain the last part of the file it will not resume and no, it`s got nothing to do with the plugin.

I am in my 20's and since I started using xbmc. I have been totally blown away by it. It is something I have always wanted and never knew existed. Some of the things I ask may seem silly to you. But I ask them because, I like to think that I'm a perfectionist. If I could program. I would create the most perfect plugin. That would do all the things I want. But I don't have that programming knowledge and when I see someone like Voinage. Making all these plugins. I am left wondering with all this talent. Why release all these plugins for all these different sites. When you can create one universal one which does it all. Voinage has done an incredible job and sometimes it may seem. That I am moaning but really I am not. He is incredible, one really good programmer, and I am very thankful. I love this freemediatv plugin that he has made and all his plugins. I know he is really busy with everything he does but he pulls off amazing work. So thank you very much voinage.

Well that already has about 3000 trailers (the last time I counted) and movie info such as run time, cast info, plot info, certificate rating, cover art. What would be awesome would be if voinage or someone else could create a patch to the script that the user can use if they want. Which would link every trailer to the url of the divx streaming sites movies. The patch would create an extra menu option (you know when you right click and press movie info on the trailers) you see that menu come up which shows 'cast, play, fanart, thumbs, trailers'. Well add to that 'play full movie'. Then you can click it to play the full movie.
Then it would be cool to patch the trailers to show up in wall mode, poster mode, list mode in say your aeon skin.
This way we never need to contact the divx streaming site. When the streaming site in the future starts to add divx 2 CD ac3 5.1 releases. Then this patch to the script could then show both movies stacked as 1 file.
Now either that above scenario or a divx streaming site could create their own script for xbmc. With all the features I mention. If you took all the time it took to post to the XBMC forums, you could have easily learned how to program in C, C++, ASM, Java, Cobol, Python, etc...
May I suggest that you stop posting silly posts to these forums and learn how to program?

I am afraid I don't have the time to program, but better would be if I could buy the xbmc team!

Slippy, the issue is that you seem to think that just because someone knows how to program that they can make just about anything happen. That simply isn't the case. The reason why he makes seperate plugins for each site is because they each handle the files differently and need a completely different command structure.
I know that, but you would only need one command structure if a patch to the apple movie trailers script was done for streaming movies from just one site freemediatv

You absolutely cannot do this. For the reason smcnally75 says and more. It would be a huge undertaking that would only result in fail.
Voinage is a good programmer and python is a good language, but neither are magic workers.

YOU (and I do mean YOU, slippy) can do something very similar to this, all by yourself. It will take some time, you'll have to play with python (though probably not actually 'learn' it) You can use the command addContextMenuItem(...) to add an item that will launch the apple movie trailers script with arguments to play the correct trailer.
However no one will hold your hand... 1000 posts in the pthon dev section will get you no where. Specific questions are always welcome.
Then it would be cool to patch the trailers to show up in wall mode, poster mode, list mode in say your aeon skin.
This way we never need to contact the divx streaming site. When the streaming site in the future starts to add divx 2 CD ac3 5.1 releases. Then this patch to the script could then show both movies stacked as 1 file.
This is would require an XBMC patch, not a script patch.
It would be way more complicated than you think, and the devs have already stated at some point or another that they have no interest in adding streaming stuff to the library.
Now either that above scenario or a divx streaming site could create their own script for xbmc. With all the features I mention. 1) Not everything is possible/doable just because you think it would be neat
2) Try and figure out the logistics of requests before you ask them, so that #1 won't be as much of an issue.

The real problem here is that slippy admittedly knows nothing about programming but seems to think he knows what a skilled programmer "should" be ale to do. It's great to have ideas, but expecting people to act on them is another think :)

It could me made with a few lines of code to stay there for about 5 seconds and if your interested in the ad you can click it and your default web browser would open up the page of the ad. While minimizing and pausing playback of xbmc. This is certainly possible and other programs do this all the time.

Windows update is coded into windows, the OS. What you are suggesting would require revamping XBMC or modifying The host OS which is what malware does. I know for certain the developers don't want to ever see XBMC be referred to as malware.

I code my releases for xbmc for xbox not for windows or other o/s if it works great.
If not then ask me for a modified version.
The xbox has no windows components it just uses xbmc- IT CANNOT DISPLAY ADS - EVER.
Unless they are hard coded into the xbmc program and the devs will not do that - Ever.
Mods- if Slippy posts another non topic request - close this damn thread i`m starting to become vexed with the over-simplification without understanding regarding O/S structure and platforms and also with what is possible. - Voinage.
Don't worry, if slippy doesn't shape up with his posts, we will revoke is access until he learns how to research and post usefully.

i'm clueless to all that has transpired above, but i'm just wondering if this plugin is still working?
just asking due to the fact that it is not working for me, but looking @ a few of the other comments left in this thread that it was working as of the 10th.
Not working for me either. I have the latest t3ch build Voinage.
I`m running it on the latest t3ch build now, it`s fine.

Hey Voinage Freemediatv keeps Buffering alot trying to watch Sevenpound any infor will be great .:sad:
It`s the same on the website - filebase server must be a slow one.
try freemediatv in google the search and seven pounds
If freemedia filebase - FB files keep saying deleted.
Go to a filebase file via the web and complete the captcha - it will then allow router ip access for 24 hours, so it will give you acesss - until i fix it after christmas.
