5.1 audio passthru problems

hi all
First if this has been posted before I'm sorry but i couldn't find it. i did a fresh install of xbmc. Enabled spdif passthru in vista, disabled the hdmi driver as stated in previous posts. when i try playing a movie it in zoomplayer my receiver is getting the 5.1 signal. but when i play it in xbmc I'm only getting 2 channel stereo. I enabled the debug log and noticed this error FactoryCodec - Audio: passthrough - Failed. I've also uploaded the log file
please let me know if any other info is needed.

have you enabled DTS/AC3 in xbmc too ?

i enabled digital in the audio hardware if thats what you are asking

ok in vista you should have 2 (at least) "Playback Devices" listed (right click speaker in systray -> playback devices)

one of them will be "Speakers", the other one will be the digital interface

is the digital interface set as the default playback device? if not, this should do it

yes digital interface is set to default

can you confirm that it happens to every file or just one in particular ?

if it's happening to all then i'm out of ideas sorry :/ i have this setup and it worked first time

yes several different files its odd because i still get sound but its coming from all the speakers in other words the dialog is coming from the center speaker and all the other speakers.
